The Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ruvini De Silva, attended the official launch of the 10th Edition of the AGROFOOD PLASTPACK PAPER EXPO 2026, held at the Sarit Expo Centre, Nairobi, on 20 August 2026, as the Guest of Honour. The event brought together key stakeholders from Kenya’s agricultural, food processing, packaging, plastics, paper and related industries.
Among the distinguished guests present were Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Medical Association, Dr. Brenda Obondo; Dr. Kelvin Osore of the Kenya Veterinary Association; and Dr. Darshan Chandaria of Chandaria Industries, along with representatives from the public and private sectors.
Delivering remarks at the occasion, Acting High Commissioner Ruvini De Silva highlighted the importance of strengthening trade, investment and business-to-business linkages between Sri Lanka and Kenya. She invited participating stakeholders and members of the business community to attend Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Colombo in January 2027, and encouraged them to explore opportunities for expanding commercial partnerships with Sri Lankan businesses.
Following her remarks, Acting High Commissioner Ruvini De Silva joined other dignitaries at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially declaring the 10th Edition of the AGROFOOD PLASTPACK PAPER EXPO 2026 open.
During her visit to the exhibition, the Acting High Commissioner also visited the booth of American Premium Water, headed by Chief Executive Officer, Fayaz Fazal, and interacted with representatives regarding their products and business activities.
The Acting High Commissioner’s participation provided an opportunity to promote Sri Lanka Expo 2027 and strengthen engagement with Kenyan stakeholders in sectors of mutual economic and commercial interest.
