The vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka are taking centre stage in India's capital as the Sri Lanka Food Festival unfolds at Farmers' Basket at Pluck, Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, offering diners an authentic taste of the island's rich culinary traditions.

The festival, which commenced on 17 July 2026, features a menu showcasing Sri Lanka's signature dishes, including hoppers (appam), kottu roti, aromatic curries, fresh seafood, and sambols, prepared using authentic recipes and ingredients.

Leading the culinary experience is Chef Chathura Ishan from Salone Ceylon by Harpo in Bengaluru, one of India's best-known Sri Lankan restaurants. Bringing his expertise and passion for Sri Lankan cuisine to New Delhi, Chef Chathura has curated a menu reflecting the diversity and distinctive flavours of Sri Lanka's culinary heritage.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India, Mahishini Colonne, visited the festival on 19 July 2026 and met Chef Chathura Ishan, commending his efforts to showcase Sri Lankan cuisine to Indian audiences and further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.

The Sri Lanka Food Festival, which runs until 26 July 2026, is expected to attract food lovers from across New Delhi and visitors to the city. Sri Lankan cuisine, renowned for its unique blend of spices and fresh ingredients, is steadily gaining popularity in India, with festivals such as this introducing more people to the island's rich gastronomic traditions.
