The President of the Zhob Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Zhob CCI), Balochistan, Asfandyar Mandokhail, along with members of the Executive Committee, called on the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Fred Seneviratne, on 11 September 2026 at the official residence of the High Commissioner.
The High Commissioner warmly welcomed the President and the Executive Committee members and briefed them on the current economic situation in Sri Lanka, with particular emphasis on the initiatives being undertaken by the Government of Sri Lanka to attract foreign investment and create a conducive environment for international businesses and investors.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner also briefed the President on Expo 2027, an upcoming international exhibition aimed at attracting foreign buyers and investors. He highlighted the opportunities the event would provide for businesses to establish new commercial partnerships, expand international networks and explore trade and investment opportunities.
The President of the Zhob CCI expressed appreciation to the High Commissioner for accepting the Chamber’s invitation and engaging with its representatives. He also conveyed the Chamber’s keen interest in strengthening business-to-business relations with Sri Lanka and exploring opportunities for cooperation between the business communities of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The meeting concluded with an understanding of the importance of continued engagement between the Sri Lankan High Commission and the Zhob Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote closer economic, trade and investment relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
