The staff of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in London commenced the observance of National Integrity Week by taking the Integrity Pledge 2026 at a ceremony held at the High Commission. Declared by the Government of Sri Lanka, National Integrity Week is being observed from 27 to 31 July 2026 under the theme, "A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka."

By taking the Integrity Pledge, the staff reaffirmed their commitment to placing the public interest above personal gain, upholding integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct, and rejecting bribery, corruption, conflicts of interest, and all forms of misconduct. The pledge also reaffirmed their commitment to delivering an efficient, impartial, and people-centred public service.

Addressing the Mission's staff, High Commissioner Nimal Senadheera highlighted the importance of integrity, accountability, and discipline in public service. He emphasised that public officers must adhere to established rules and procedures while carrying out their duties with professionalism and dedication. He also underscored the role of internal oversight mechanisms in promoting ethical conduct and accountability, stressing that a sustainable culture of integrity depends on the commitment of every public officer.

The observance of National Integrity Week represents a commitment by public officials to uphold the dignity, transparency, efficiency, and accountability of the Sri Lanka Public Service.
