The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Kerala, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, on 15 July 2026.

The Deputy High Commissioner highlighted the significant number of Sri Lankan pilgrims visiting Sabarimala temple annually and discussed measures to further facilitate religious tourism. The Governor assured his full support in promoting closer cooperation in this regard.

During the visit, the Governor graciously facilitated a special visit for the Deputy High Commissioner to the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, reflecting the close cultural and religious ties between Sri Lanka and Kerala.
