Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on 28 August 2026.
During the meeting, discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding relations between Sri Lanka and Andhra Pradesh, with particular emphasis on tourism, trade and investment, pilgrimage tourism and industrial cooperation.
The Deputy High Commissioner highlighted the potential to enhance trade and investment cooperation, particularly by encouraging greater engagement between the business communities and exploring new avenues for economic collaboration.
The Chief Minister invited more Sri Lankan garment and apparel companies to establish and expand their operations in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the State’s potential as an investment destination in the garment and textile sector.
The discussions also highlighted opportunities to further strengthen pilgrimage and cultural tourism, contributing to enhanced people-to-people contacts and closer cultural ties between Sri Lanka and Andhra Pradesh.
