Eligibility: Sri Lankan Migrant Workers

Method of submitting application: Applications should be submitted directly to the Consular  Affairs Division or post/ mail/ fax/ or through the Regional offices with necessary information. ((Matara/Kandy/Trinco/Jaffna/Kurunegala)

Time to submit application: 08:30hrs - 15:00hrs - during office hours

Fees for to obtaining this service: None

When can you claim the compensation: As soon as the court proceedings on the respective case concluded or the foreign employer settles all legal dues

Required documents to be submitted: The applicant / complainant / relative should meet the subject officer with the proof of identity as the procedure varies according to the circumstances of the reported cases. Please view the relevant information for more details.

Application Form: Only request letter would be sufficient.

Following Documents should be submitted with the application

  1. Duly filled Application by the next of kin

  2. Request letter for compensation

  3. Details of the employer

  4. Service Agreement

  5. Company Identity Card

  6. Insurance Details

  7. Bank Details

  8. Medical Reports (If Needed)

-For a court case –

  1. Power of Attorney

  2. Legal Heir Certificate

  3. Guardianship Certificate (If there are children below 18 years old)

  4. Pardon Letter (Murder Case)

  5. Other relevant legal documents (Birth Certificate/ Marriage Certificate etc.)

If the court judgment is given as the deceased person is the convict of the case there is no possibility of receiving compensation.

Requested documents are depend on the case and the Country, where the deth occured.
