The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi, Pakistan, in association with the Sri Lankan community successfully organized a colorful and spiritually enriching Vesak Day celebration on 17 May 2026, with the participation of around 200 attendees.

The event brought together members of the Sri Lankan community, Sri Lankan students, Sri Lanka Tri-Forces personnel, members of the Pakistan–Sri Lanka Business Forum, and many well-wishers from Pakistan.

The occasion was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Consul General of Thailand in Karachi and his Deputy, the Commercial Consul of Vietnam.

The religious observances commenced with a Buddha Pooja followed by a Dhamma Sermon delivered online by the Most Venerable Kumaragama Wimalaransi Thero. The programme also featured a devotional Bhakthi Gee performance, creating a serene and uplifting atmosphere for all participants. Refreshments were served afterwards.

This colorful event truly reflected the unity, harmony, and brotherhood among all Sri Lankans living in this region, coming together for a religious and cultural programme beyond differences of religion or background.
