Chief Operations Officer of Kenya Association of Private Hospitals Pays Courtesy Visit to Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka

Chief Operations Officer of the Kenya Association of Private Hospitals (KAPH), Lucy Wanjohi, paid a courtesy visit to Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ruvini De Silva, at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and Kenya, particularly in healthcare, private sector engagement and business collaboration. Lucy Wanjohi assumed her position as Chief Operations Officer of KAPH on 17 August 2026 and brought experience in the Kenyan healthcare sector.

During the meeting, Acting High Commissioner Ruvini De Silva briefed Lucy Wanjohi on Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Colombo from 14–17 January 2027, and highlighted opportunities for Kenyan businesses and institutions to engage with Sri Lankan companies across sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, tourism, information technology, tea, gems and jewellery, apparel and manufacturing.

The Acting High Commissioner also invited KAPH and its members to participate in the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo 2027 Business Breakfast and Briefing Sessions, scheduled to be held in Nairobi on 25 September 2026 and Mombasa on 2 October 2026. The sessions will provide Kenyan stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about the Expo, explore potential business partnerships with Sri Lankan companies and identify areas for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Acting High Commissioner expressed her appreciation for the visit and welcomed greater engagement between the Sri Lankan and Kenyan private sectors, particularly in healthcare. Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining closer institutional and business-to-business contacts to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
