Kenya Transporters Association Pays Courtesy Call on Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka

A delegation from the Kenya Transporters Association paid a courtesy call on the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ruvini De Silva, at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi on 20 August 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and Kenya in the transport sector, including opportunities for knowledge sharing, institutional cooperation and the exchange of best practices.

The Acting High Commissioner briefed the delegation on Sri Lanka’s capabilities and expertise in the transport and related sectors and highlighted opportunities for enhanced engagement between relevant institutions of the two countries.

She also briefed the delegation on the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Colombo from 14–17 January 2027, and invited the Kenya Transporters Association to participate in the Expo and explore potential partnerships with Sri Lankan institutions and companies.

The Acting High Commissioner further highlighted the Sri Lanka Expo 2027 Briefing Sessions to be organised by the High Commission in Nairobi on 25 September 2026 and in Mombasa on 2 October 2026. The sessions will provide Kenyan government institutions, business representatives and other stakeholders with information on the Expo and opportunities for trade, investment and business collaboration with Sri Lanka.

The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages and identifying areas of mutual interest to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
