Seventh Working Group on Energy held at Marawila from 15-16 March 2013

The Seventh Working Group on Energy is held at Marawila from 15-16 March 2013, with the participation of delegates from the SAARC Member States.

The Meeting is expected to cover a wide range of issues including a proposal on “regional inter-governmental framework agreement to develop power generation from hydro and other primary energy resources through regional grid connectivity and gas pipelines “and the draft Action Plan on Energy Conservation. The creation of a web portal on Energy Conservation for exchange of information and sharing of best practices among SAARC Member States is another agenda item of the Meeting.

The Meeting is organized by the Ministry of Power and Energy, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka.
