President Sirisena to undertake State Visit to Australia

President Maithripala Sirisena will undertake a state visit to Australia on 24-26 May 2017 at the invitation of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. The visit takes place as both countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

Sri Lanka and the Czech Republic renew bilateral cooperation

The Junior Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic H.E. Ivan Jancarek met with Additional Secretary of Foreign Affairs (Economic Affairs & Trade, Middle East & Africa, and Political Affairs/ West) Mrs. Grace Asirwatham, on 5th May 2017, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo.

Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and the State of Palestine held in Colombo

DSC_7880The first session of Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and the State of Palestine was held in Colombo on 21st April 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo. The Protocol on Political Consultations was signed between the two countries in 2012, with a view to further develop bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.

President Sirisena to undertake official visit to the Russian Federation

President Maithripala Sirisena will undertake an official visit to the Russian Federation on 22-24 March 2017 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. The upcoming visit will be the first official visit to Russia by a Sri Lankan leader since 1974, when Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike visited Moscow. The visit takes place as both countries celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment diplomatic relations this year.
