The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Oman hosted a reception at the Masirah Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel in Muscat to promote Ceylon Tea among Omani consumers, tea importers, representatives of supermarket chains, and media personalities.

Guests were served a variety of iced tea mocktails from the Dilmah product range and flavoured iced tea beverages from the Akbar Tea range. The highlight of the event was a tea demonstration and tasting session conducted by tea connoisseur Ahmed Azam, who introduced 25 varieties of Ceylon Tea, including regional teas, speciality teas, and artisanal teas.

Sri Lankan tea brands available in Oman, including Dilmah, Akbar, Stassen, and Ceylonista, were showcased at dedicated stalls for tea tasting.

Guests were also served a high tea buffet featuring Ceylon Tea-infused desserts, a variety of Sri Lankan savoury specialties, and Ceylon Tea.

The event commenced with a welcome address by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Oman, W. A. K. S. De Alwis, who highlighted the significance of the event coinciding with International Tea Day and this year’s theme, “Sustaining Tea, Supporting Communities.” This was followed by a presentation on the unique qualities of Ceylon Tea and the significance of the Ceylon Tea Lion Logo.

Guests were presented with gifts of Ceylon Tea at the conclusion of the event.
