Sri Lanka showcased its products at Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL Paris 2026), a leading international food industry exhibition, held in Paris from 17 to 21 October 2026, with strong national participation, innovative products and engagement with international buyers.
Supported by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in France, 92 Sri Lankan companies participated in the exhibition, creating opportunities to promote local products and strengthen international business partnerships.
The 2026 edition of the exhibition brought together 8,000 exhibitors from 127 countries and attracted more than 295,000 trade professionals from around the world.
Sri Lanka’s participation supported the country’s export promotion efforts. The delegation comprised 64 major exporters, 20 exhibitors in the EDB pavilion and eight companies in the Sri Lanka Tea Board pavilion.
The national pavilions were officially inaugurated on 17 October 2026 by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to France, Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Throughout the five-day exhibition, First Secretary (Commercial) Prasadi Boomawalage and other Embassy officials facilitated business-to-business engagements and supported participating companies.
To attract international buyers, the EDB pavilion hosted daily live culinary demonstrations featuring value-added Sri Lankan products, premium spices and Pure Ceylon Tea. Leading chefs demonstrated the versatility of these products in contemporary cuisine.
The National Organic Control Unit (NOCU) of the EDB was also represented at the exhibition to promote awareness of Sri Lanka’s National Organic Certificate and the country’s organic products among potential international buyers.
Four Sri Lankan companies received SIAL 2026 Recognition & Innovation Awards for their products, highlighting the country’s innovation and value-added offerings:
Dilmah – Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Tea Collection
Russell’s Global – Wellness Tea
CinZ – Ready-to-Drink Cinnamon Concentrate
Goodness Factory – Premium Rice Bran Oil
The Embassy also used the exhibition to promote Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Colombo from 14 to 17 January 2027, and invited prospective buyers to participate.
