The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan participated in the 62nd Annual Diplomatic Bazaar, held at Al Hussein Youth City on 17 October 2026. Organised under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, the event supported the Mabarrat Um Al Hussein Orphanage, established in 1958 by the late Queen Zein Al Sharaf.

The bazaar brought together 35 diplomatic missions based in Amman, showcasing a diverse range of cultural products, fashion, food and handicrafts.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka set up two stalls to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage. One featured traditional handicrafts, coconut products, spices, batik, Ceylon tea, Ayurveda products, biscuits, cookies, fruit drinks, and rush and reed products. The other showcased Sri Lankan cuisine and Ceylon tea, which were warmly received by visitors.

Princess Basma Bint Talal, accompanied by ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions, toured the bazaar and viewed the handicrafts and traditional dishes presented by participating countries. During her visit to the Sri Lankan stalls, she appreciated the Embassy’s participation and the country’s traditional products. In appreciation of her visit, the Embassy presented her with a Sri Lankan luxury Ayurveda product.

Thousands of visitors attended the bazaar to experience diverse cultures, sample international cuisines and purchase unique products.
