HIGH COMMISSIONER AIR CHIEF MARSHAL UDENI RAJAPAKSA (RETD) PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO NAMIBIAN PRESIDENT DR. NETUMBO NANDI-NDAITWAH

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Namibia, with residence in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, Air Chief Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa (Retd), presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, at a ceremony held at State House in Windhoek on Thursday, 11 June 2026.

The High Commissioner conveyed to President Nandi-Ndaitwah the greetings and best wishes of the President of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Disanayaka, and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1999.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Rajapaksa recalled the long-standing close relations between Sri Lanka and Namibia, founded on common values, mutual respect, and active engagement in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Nations, the Group of 77, and the Non-Aligned Movement.

The High Commissioner briefed President Nandi-Ndaitwah on recent developments in Sri Lanka, including the country’s ongoing economic recovery efforts, and highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah warmly welcomed the High Commissioner and reaffirmed Namibia’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. She expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to work closely together for their mutual benefit.

The discussions underscored the importance of South-South cooperation and collaboration among developing countries in addressing common challenges and advancing sustainable development.

Air Chief Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa (Retd) completed 37 years of distinguished service in the Sri Lanka Air Force and served as its 19th Commander. He is a Member of the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka and an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka.
