The High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Zealand successfully conducted a Mobile Consular Service at Te Awa School in Napier on 26 September 2026, bringing essential consular services closer to the Sri Lankan community in the Hawke’s Bay region.
The service was conducted under the leadership of the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to New Zealand, Prasanna Gamage, with the participation of officials from the High Commission. The initiative enabled Sri Lankan expatriates residing in the Hawke’s Bay region to access consular services without travelling to Wellington, particularly benefiting those unable to visit the High Commission in person.
During the programme, High Commissioner Gamage delivered a presentation on the role and functions of the High Commission and engaged in an interactive discussion with members of the Sri Lankan community, providing an opportunity for participants to raise questions and share their views.
The High Commission extends its appreciation to LakKiwi NZ, Smart Adviser, SLbizapp, Migrate Wise, and other sponsors for their valuable support in organising the programme. The High Commission also acknowledges the contributions of Sri Lankan community organisations in the Hawke’s Bay region and all individuals who assisted in facilitating the event.
The High Commission further expresses its gratitude to the Principal and Board of Trustees of Te Awa School, Napier, for providing the venue free of charge.
The High Commission of Sri Lanka remains committed to delivering efficient, accessible, and people-centered consular services to the Sri Lankan community throughout New Zealand.
