On 09th May 2026, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland participated at the Sri Lankan New Year Celebrations organized by the Sri Lankan Association in Poland, in Poznan, one of the oldest and largest cities in Poland and 309 kilometers from Warsaw.
A special feature of this year’s celebrations of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, was the opportunity provided by the Association for the Embassy to have a consular desk at the event, to deliver specific consular services to the Sri Lankan community from various cities, who gather at the event to experience and reconnect with the Sri Lankan culture as well as to strengthen the bonds of Community.
It was the first occasion that the Embassy provided a consular mobile information desk for the Sri Lankan community in Poland. Sri Lankans from different regions of Poland were able to utilize the consular services,
while in an atmosphere of festivity with traditional music, song and dance to the beating of drums.
